NyQuil to the Rescue

A lot of people complain about the evils of Western Medicine, but I gotta tell you one gem it has produced is NyQuil. I have so much pressure in my sinues right now I feel like they are going to blow like Old Faithful any minute. Snorting salt water helps, but not while I am trying to sleep. The night before last I could not sleep. Last night I downed some NyQuil and I was out cold all night long. I am a bit foggy today - but it is Saturday morning so it doesn't really matter. It is not like those dishes really needed to be washed...

you know my mom has got it too...although not quite as bad I don't think...I am debating whether or not to get a flu shot this year for the kids and for me. we never have before...do you get them?

We haven't - but I am thinking about it too. I got the flu last year and it blew. Big time.

On the other hand getting Pablo to get a shot may be just as much suffering. The kid is TERRIFIED of needles. Not pretty.

you probably have a common cold.

flu vaccines protects you from known strains of viruses and will do nothing for the common cold. the flu is a very dangerous disease, while the common cold is just that: common and makes you miserable.
my humble opinion (which is not technically mine!). get the flu vaccine for the kids (force them!) and older people.
for the common cold, just rest as much as you can. make edu wash those dishes. use any over the counter med or potion that alleviates the symptoms for you, in that particular moment. nothing will cure or prevent the common cold (specially when you work/see many other people). if it lasts more than seven days, then seek medical help ...
get well! (you are probably feeling better today, i hope)
