Glenn Greenwald has been reporting on the outrageous arrests and full-on police raids that have taken place over the last few days in the Twin Cities before the RNC convention starts:
So here we have a massive assault led by Federal Government law enforcement agencies on left-wing dissidents and protesters who have committed no acts of violence or illegality whatsoever, preceded by months-long espionage efforts to track what they do. And as extraordinary as that conduct is, more extraordinary is the fact that they have received virtually no attention from the national media and little outcry from anyone....
...During the Olympics just weeks ago, there was endless hand-wringing over the efforts by the Chinese Government to squelch dissent and incarcerate protesters.
If Barack wins he sure inherits a government in bad bad shape. Lets hope he really will work on getting rid of the increasing authoritarianism. Pretty scary stuff.
