Ted Kennedy diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.
He is a real hero for us liberals. Over the years we have seen many many Democrats try to be anything but "liberal". Kennedy has never been one of them.
Here he is in early October 2002 shortly before 29 of his Senate Democratic colleagues voted for the war {including Hillary Clinton}:
"We have to ask ourselves, are we going to be better off before the conflict or after the conflict -- let alone, how are we going to ever get out of Iraq? And if we go it alone, who's going to be there, stay there and pay the bill?" Kennedy told CBS' "Face the Nation."
"We have been discussing the resolutions We haven't debated the war," he said.

There's something very tragic Irish/Russian novel about Ted Kennedy's life. I think he has more than made up for his "sins" with his examplary political life over the last 20+ years, but it is just so "Kennedy" that something dramatic like this should happen to him. I hope he recovers.
