I can't believe I am about to write this, but I actually wish I would have watched the Republican debate this evening. Logan Murphy wrote this on Crooks and Liars this evening {click on link to watch clip}:
The Republican CNN/YouTube debate looked more like an episode of Jerry Springer than a presidential debate. Senator John McCain was asked a question about taxes and decided to go way off topic and attack Rep. Ron Paul for his stance on Iraq and wanting to bring the troops home.And he didn't even get into them fighting over who is the biggest bigot.
McCain accused Paul of what he called the same sort of appeasement that allowed Hitler to take power and WWII to happen, and told him he’d just returned from Iraq and said he had a message for Ron from “the troops” — and the audience let him have it. Paul put it right back in his face by reminding him that he has received more donations from active duty military personnel than any other Republican candidate. Oh, did anyone notice Chuck Norris in the audience? This stuff just writes itself… {emphasis mine}
UPDATE: While I am talking politics, I found this pretty interesting: Edwards actually said that he prefers Obama to Clinton. Chris Bowers writes:
Edwards had some criticism of Obama in that speech as well, but this basically amounts to a direct anti-Clinton assault. If Obama reciprocates, this could easily change the campaign.
