We are Living in a Material World

Every once in a while I am gripped by a feeling that can only be described as "lust" for a material object. About two years ago I started obsessing about a Mac laptop and although last year's purchase has been everything I could have ever hoped for, I have started to move on to a new "crush".

My current obsession is with a SLR camera. The Nikon D80 has totally captivated me, although the D40 or the Canon EOS Digital Rebel Xti are not too shabby options.

It sure doesn't help when friends from the blogisphere were smiled on by the birthday Gods this year and have had some amazing photos in the last days as a result.

So a question for my 7 dear readers: what material object makes you drool lately? Any answer is acceptable except for "healthy children" or "world peace". Gag me with a credit card.

UPDATE: I do want world peace and healthy children.

UPDATE to the UPDATE: I would not trade the health of my children {or parents for that matter} for the best camera in the world. My gagging had more to do with when one is having a semi-shallow conversation about things like material items, television, or People Magazine and someone chimes in with: "oh I don't watch TV, " "I have never even heard the name Paris Hilton." or my personal favorite: "I don't know about that, because sugar has never passed through my child's lips."
