Burn Baby Burn

I spent the day at work checking the Internet as often as I could and the evening glued to the TV. Even during Daleth's birthday celebration we had the TV on the whole time. These fires are huge and will definitely be the worst in San Diego's history.

I have often felt sorry for my kids that they never get to experience "snow days" - little did I know that they would get to have "wild fires" days. Aida had just started Kindergarten during the Cedar Fires and she missed a whole week of school. Tomorrow the kids don't have to go to school. I have to say, snow days are better because kids can actually go outside and enjoy the snow. During wildfires we have to keep the kids inside since the air quality is so bad. Ahh California living.

On a different note: HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY to Daleth! This is definitely one she will not forget. Personally I am looking forward to my 40s.
