Sucks He Didn't Get to See the End of the Bush Era

Kurt Vonnegut 1922-2007

Vonnegut was a bit of a cult figure at my Alma Matter, the University of Iowa, because he spent some time living in Iowa City while working at it's prestigious Writer's Workshop. I along with hundreds of people once sat outside for close to an hour waiting to hear him speak only find out it had been an April Fool's joke. (All it took was sidewalk chalk all over campus informing us of his visit.)

We had to read his Cat's Cradle in the 11th grade, it was unlike anything I had ever read. I loved it. Just a few weeks ago I was going to post a brilliant quote Vonnegut wrote recently about Bush - I never got around to it. Of course I can't find it now. I will keep looking.
