Nature on PBS tonight- Raptors from close to my hometown

Watch "Nature" on PBS tonight (8:00 here in San Diego) and see the area around my hometown of Decorah, Iowa. Eduardo and I will even see some familiar faces like Dave Kesster one of the falconers featured.

From Decorah's newspaper:

"Ever since we've looked to the skies, we've wanted to fly like the raptors and step by humble step we're doing our best to make the dream of Icarus a reality." Raptor Force.

"If you like flight or like birds, this will blow your dress off."

That's how Bob Anderson of rural Decorah summed up the documentary "Raptor Force" debuting on the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) Sunday, Feb. 18.

Anderson and several other Decorah area residents are featured in the film, which highlights "nature's elite killing force - predators whose graceful beauty belies their stunning speed, acrobatics and precision," according to a program summary on the Nature website.

The program "looks at raptors' complex anatomy and how it influences military aircraft design, and presents stunning in-flight footage from miniature cameras mounted on the predators' bodies."
