"Robert De Niro and Matt Damon will be on Hardball next week, so they played a little teaser clip for us. Damon thinks that all of America should share the burden of war and maybe the Bush Twins could be serving our country better shopping in Baghdad.

Damon: I don't think that it's fair as I said before, that it seems like we have a fighting class in our country. That's comprised of people who have to go for either financial reasons or , I don;t think that that is fair. And if you're gonna send people to war, ahh, if, if we all get together and decide we need to go to war then that needs to be shared by everybody. You know and if the President has daughters who are of age then maybe they should go too…

I think Matt has been reading my emails to Annie, I wrote this to her 2 days ago: (background: she forwarded me an absolutely appalling right wing nutter video she got from an in-law basically saying all Islamic people wanted America to go down in flames: we need to "fight the good fight" and get them before they get us.)

I have 5 words to say to anyone sending that racist bullshit:

Get your ass to Iraq.

If this war has been going for 27 years why is the army struggling to get enough people to send to Iraq? I don't see young Republicans lining up to go- or your average Fox News or Rush listener for that matter? How about the Bush Family?- how many eligible members of that family are fighting? Oh yeah that would be a big "0". Any Cheneys, Rumsfelds, Limbaughs, O'Reillys, Hannidys, McCains, Liebermanns, Kristols, Perls, Wolfowitzs, Santorums, or any other of the countless cheerleaders we have in office sending their kids over there?

You know great Democrats like the Roosevelts and Kennedys actually put their asses in combat when they thought civilization was at stake-(and to give Bush I and Dole some credit they did too) I don't see that happening here. Instead I see a lot of coward cheerleading about torturing Muslims. Kick some Islam ass. Yeah that will save us.

Meanwhile in Guantanamo a bunch of people are rotting away with never ever having charges brought against them. Isn't this country supposed to be better than that? Some poor Mohamed Ibrahim, a random taxi driver from Kabul gets fingered by his neighbor and 3 years later he is still in Cuba. Nice. Land of the home and the brave.

Those people literally make me sick.
