We had a great time, even though I found the whole place completely surreal. We got to see Eduardo's uncle Gordo and family and our great friends Tiveeda and Anthony which was really fun.
Frankly, a lot of the place kind of creeped me out. I loved the cheesy parts, but the new "upscale" hotels like The Paris and The Venetian I found depressing. Ironically, they were the two hotels I was most excited about visiting. They were like the Disney version of great cities- only I felt like most people didn't get how insulting it was to the actual cities. The casinos at both hotels have blue skies and at one point Eduardo commented that even though we were inside it felt like we were outside. My reaction was that I felt like it was what "outside" would be like after most of the world was destroyed in a nuclear war.
Hopefully the "Gordos" in Mexico City will send some photos- for some reason I didn't get any with them.
