Our Mississippi River Tour

Here you can see two juvenile Bald Eagles and their nest. They were born in the spring. Bald Eagles do not get their signature white head until they are five. It was not that far back that a Bald Eagle was a very exciting site along the Mississippi. Now they are everywhere mostly thanks to the outlawing of DDT. (My mom just explained to me that DDT caused the eagle's egg shells to become so weak that they would break when they were sat on.)
