E.O. WIlson and James Watson on Darwin

Eduardo and I just happened to catch a totally amazing Charlie Rose Show last night where he interviewed E.O. Wilson and James Watson (as in Watson and Crick who discovered the structure of DNA) where they both talked about their new books on Darwin.

You can watch the show here. Usually one has to pay for these shows on Google Video, but right now it is free. I know it is hard to sit and watch a whole show on the computer, but to give you any idea how great it is at the end Charlie Rose says something like, "I have done over 30,000 interviews in my life and this is one of the ones that I am most proud." (sorry to paraphrase, but I can't find a transcript)

Somehow they started talking about scientific mysteries still left to be "discovered" They both agreed that one of the biggest mysteries left was how information is stored in the brain. I find it so facinating that we know so much about the human genome, space, physics, etc, but still something as basic as how our own brains work is not understood.

Any questions out there that any of you hope are answered in your lifetime? Is Tom Cruise really gay does not count....
