Wow

With 80% of the votes counted in the recount of the Mexican Election now AMLO is ahead. Crazy I can't really understand how it happened. I will have to wait for Eduardo to come home to do some translation for me of the Mexican newspapers since this part of the story has not hit the American press yet...

UPDATE: I was wrong about it being a "recount". Actually this is the real count- the one on Sunday (and into Monday) was a "preliminary" count. This is the real count- from the reports done at each polling place.

AMLO has already requested that a "recount" be done. That would involve opening up the voting boxes again. I am not sure if or when that will happen- or even how that decision is made.

UPDATE II: AMLO's lead has dropped a lot. If trends continue it is going to be very, very close. We can't find out where the 10% or so that has not been counted is from.
