Fingers Are Crossed

Fingers are crossed for Francine Busby. Please, please, please let her beat Republican Brian Bilbray. I was amazed how much the National Air America hosts were talking about this San Diego race in the last couple of days. I heard her this morning first on our local show, then again on Al Franken's National show- then again on Ed Schultz's show. She obviously understands America's "radio culture" something Big Ed always goes on and on about Democrats not understanding.

Here in North Park, San Diego she would not be our Congresswoman- but we know a lot of people who got to vote for her this morning. Our Congresswoman Susan Davis actually beat Busby's opponent Brian Bilbray back in 2000 when he was in Congress representing this district.

I just told Eduardo that I am starting to get a bad feeling about it. Then I realized it is just the general dread that I now get on anything having to do with an election night.

Please let this be the night we start to climb out of the hole that was election night '04.

Please let Karl Rove shit his pants tomorrow morning when he sees the front page of the paper. (my mother has already commented on my bad language on the blog- but sometimes no other words will work- at least her mother won't be able to read it. If she was still alive and I knew she was reading I probably would watch my language a little more......)
